Addiction
Remember The Streets "A Grand Don't Come For Free"? I used to love that album so much...I was totally absorbed by that story and the last track made me cry every time with that sad ending then happy ending thing. I don't want to listen to any track from that album anymore because I'm afraid it'll sound dated. Wasn't every track just some guy or girl talking in a sing-songy way? Haha. Also with reserved spots in my heart are all of those Belle & Sebastian albums + EPs...Wilco "Yankee Hotel Foxtrot"-Eels-Grandaddy-Godspeed You! Black Emperor-Chutes Too Narrow-Neutral Milk Hotel then the Olivia Tremor Control and of Montreal and the Apples and then the rest of E6-the first time I heard Neighborhood #1 after reading the Pitchfork track review-and when I went to Other Music and bought all of the classic indie rock albums at once and the guy was telling me how great they all were and I just stood there and said cool...I think I cried the first time I heard "Winter's Love" by Animal Collective; same for Double Nickels on the Dime; "Breadcrumb Trail" by Slint; "Circle" by Boredoms; whatever New Order song was my first; "Trigger Cut" by Pavement...There are so many more...I wish there was an entire new world for me to find because discovering music when I was 12/13 was the best time of my life. I still chase that feeling!
